Some experiences shape us quietly. Early relationships, dysfunctional family dynamics like emotional neglect, chronic invalidation, or growing up having to be the responsible one. You may appear highly capable on the outside while carrying persistent anxiety, self-doubt, people-pleasing, or difficulty setting boundaries that align with who you are inside.

As an EMDRIA-certified trauma therapist, I offer EMDR Intensive Therapy for folks who want depth, privacy, and meaningful results.

INTENSIVES

let's talk

THIS IS FOR THOSE READY TO ADDRESS THE ROOTS OF EARLY CHILDHOOD TRAUMA AND FINALLY EXPERIENCE EMOTIONAL RELIEF, CLARITY, AND SELF-TRUST.

EMDR

INTENSIVES VS. WEEKLY THERAPY

Both weekly therapy and EMDR Intensive Therapy can be meaningful paths to healing—but they serve different needs, timelines, and goals.

THERAPY

WEEKLY

  • Offers gradual support and reflection over time

  • Often focuses on insight, coping skills, and day-to-day stressors

  • Sessions are typically 45–60 minutes, which may limit depth of trauma processing

  • Progress can feel slower when working with early or complex trauma

INTENSIVE

  • Designed for focused, immersive trauma resolution

  • Involves extended sessions (3–6 hours) that allow the nervous system to fully engage and settle

  • Reduces the start-and-stop feeling common in weekly work

  • Ideal for addressing developmental trauma, attachment wounds, and entrenched relational patterns

  • Often leads to clearer shifts in emotional reactivity, self-trust, and boundaries in a shorter timeframe

EMDR

Rather than replacing weekly therapy, intensives offer a deliberate, high-impact alternative—or a complement—for adults who value efficiency, privacy, and depth.

Many clients choose intensives because they are ready to move beyond understanding why patterns exist and are prepared to work directly with how those patterns live in the body and nervous system.

SUITED FOR YOU

  • Grew up with emotionally immature, unavailable, or inconsistent caregivers

  • Identify as an adult child of emotionally immature parents

  • Struggle with chronic self-criticism, guilt, or over-responsibility

  • Feel anxious or activated in relationships despite strong insight

  • Have difficulty setting or maintaining clear, healthy boundaries

  • Notice patterns of people-pleasing, emotional shutdown, or hyper-independence

  • Want to heal developmental trauma without years of ongoing therapy

benefits of

EMDR INTENSIVE THERAPY

EFFICIENT

HIGH-IMPACT

HEALING

Extended sessions allow us to move beyond surface coping and stay with the work long enough for true reprocessing to occur often reducing the overall time spent in therapy.

PRIVACY AND PERSONALIZATION

Intensives offer a discreet, concierge-style experience ideal for professionals and individuals who value confidentiality and focused care.

HEALING EARLY CHILDHOOD AND RELATIONAL TRAUMA

EMDR is particularly effective for experiences that were never labeled as “trauma” but shaped your sense of safety, worth, and connection.

LESS EMOTIONAL REACTIVITY, MORE INNER CALM

Clients often report reduced anxiety, improved emotional regulation, and a greater sense of internal steadiness following intensives.

STRONGER BOUNDARIES

WITHOUT GUILT

As trauma responses resolve, many clients find that boundaries feel more natural, less reactive, and no longer require constant explanation or justification.

INTEGRATION, NOT OVERWHELM

Longer sessions provide ample time for grounding, regulation, and reflection, supporting a sense of safety during and after the work.

If you are ready to release old patterns, strengthen boundaries, and feel more at home in yourself, EMDR Intensive Therapy may be the next step.

EMDR Intensives are intentionally designed for depth, focus, and emotional engagement. While this format is highly effective for many, it is not the right fit for everyone.

EMDR INTENSIVE THERAPY

for

Minimalist Home Setting

THIS SERVICE MAY NOT BE APPROPRIATE IF YOU:

  • Are currently in acute crisis or require a higher level of care

  • Are seeking short-term symptom management without exploring underlying patterns

  • Prefer a slower, exploratory pace without focused trauma processing

  • Are not ready to engage emotionally for extended periods of time

  • Are primarily looking for insurance-based or open-ended weekly therapy

  • Have not yet established basic nervous system regulation or external stability

If this applies to you, that does not mean therapy won’t be helpful only that a different format or level of care may better support you right now.

Part of our initial consultation is thoughtfully determining whether an EMDR Intensive aligns with your needs, readiness, and goals. When appropriate, I am happy to offer referrals or alternative recommendations to ensure you receive the right kind of support.

EMDR EXPERIENCES

A TRULY INVALUABLE RESOURCE

"Shannon has been a truly invaluable resource through some of the most turbulent times of my life. Her warmth and humor automatically relax you and allow you to enter a mindset of feeling and healing. Her ability to disarm you emotionally and her clinical expertise made her the person I wanted to go through EMDR therapy with. EMDR is hard and messy but SO worth it and she never let me lose sight of that. I HIGHLY recommend EMDR therapy, but especially with Shannon."
